Day 35: Amunì compà, Uma & Marco race to Sicily!: 30km from Frosinone to Pontecorvo
"The bigger the goal, the smaller the steps" (Brad Stulberg)
The route:
Today's stage had a bit of everything: bright blue skies and a blazing sun, deserted country lanes and back roads, but also rough trails, mud and water crossings. And, lo and behold, I was suddenly back on the Via Francigena (this time South), which leads from Rome to Apulia and unexpectedly crossed my path again today. Slowly, slowly, we're getting closer to the finish line—my body will thank me...
.
Good? Bad? Ugly?
Yesterday's parking with the 7.5m van was already a masterpiece by Sabine. But the way she got out of there today without hitting the statue, the lamppost, the lemon tree, and the sleeping mother (no card payments accepted...) earns her at least a 2nd Dan in "Maneuvering under Extreme Conditions" 💯! Of course, we celebrated immediately at Sunday breakfast.
A total distance of 30 km and 359 meters of altitude.
