Day 10: Amunì compà, Uma & Marco race to Sicily!: 32km Pont-Saint-Martin to Viverone
"The most important thing is showing up!
The route:
Today's stage once again led us from the narrow, wild Aosta Valley into the expanse of Piedmont in glorious sunshine. We started in Pont-Saint-Martin and stayed firmly on the Via Francigena, passing rustic villages, shady forests, and a few decent trails. We continued through the lively old town of Ivrea (or Olivetti, to be precise) to our destination, Viverone, on the idyllic lake of the same name.
Good? Bad? Ugly?
Uma enjoys the shady walks through the forests, cooling off in the streams, and finally a refreshing swim in Lake Viverone! Sabine and I treat ourselves to a cool aperitif.
A little further out, we found an even cooler spot for the van (Camping "Future is Nature") via the Nomady platform.
A total distance of 32km and 425 meters of altitude.
